i suggest you google{memorial day-why?}
choose your topic or reason.
coming from a military family it ment to honor the dead who served our country.
then "veterans day" came....what was that for if not a memorial day?
so- i look at this day as such: a day to (if you wish) visit the graves of loved ones...to visit where ever ashes of same were strewn...to reflect on what they did to make us better...or even worse to give us bad examples not to follow.
sure it's another "sale" day. ignore that part.
i will reflect on my mom who raised 5 kids and moved over 25 times in 35 years to be with her military husband.
on my dad- just ...on my dad...
on my brother phil who left me tooo soon-too quick and too alone.
and to my loves dad whom i got to meet but never got to know...
just a day to slow down a bit and reflect.
and be thankful and grateful which to me are two different things/feelings/emotions.
i know it would be best if everyday
was a day to do this and for you it might just be.
Horray for our heros-our moms-our dads-our
families and friends who have passed before us.
and...horray for us for remembering.
dave
